'Les Plaines'. A beautifully decorated and spacious country family home ideally situated on the edge of the medieval village of Murs (500 meters altitude) with its Chateau dating back to the 15th Century. Only 45 kms from Avignon; 8 kms from Gordes, 30 kms from Sault 'lavender country' and 8 kms from Roussillon the heart of the Luberon National Park. The village boasts a very good store that sells fresh bread and about everything else, a Post Office, Church and Mairie as well as an excellent family restaurant café. 

This lovely single storey family home is orientated south.  It lies in 7000 square-meters of woodland, natural gardens and large stone terraces. The South facing terrace dominates the valley towards Apt with unique views over the Grand and Petit Luberon Hills, the Falaise de Lioux and the red ochre hills of Roussillon.  This main south facing terrace is accessible from the lounge, dining room and two bedrooms through double French doors.  A large teak table, chairs and  barbecue are at your disposition on the terrace under the shady tonnelle.


Les Plaines has been tastefully decorated with antique and modern furniture.  There is a neat fully equipped kitchen with a six-burner smeg cook-top and oven with rotisserie, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. There are numerous pretty dishes, pots and pans and glass ware to use. There is a washing machine and dryer area next to the kitchen.

The adjacent spacious sunny dining room area has a long dining table and chairs to seat 10 persons. Two French doors and large windows open out onto the southern terrace and view. The huge lounge with its comfortable sofas and impressive old stone fireplace is perfect for relaxing and watching the television.  We have Sky TV and French channels, a DVD and CD players.  There are hundreds of books to read and many family games to play. There is also a wi fi installation for those who still like to keep in contact with the rest of the world even on holiday.

There are 5 bedrooms, a master bedroom with French doors and windows opening out onto the terrace, queen size bed, and an en suite bathroom with bath, shower, double basins and WC. A second queen size bedroom opening out onto the terrace and three other twin bedded rooms (2 x 90-centimeter single beds in each).  There are two other bathrooms with double basins, bath and shower and water closet.  Plus a separate Water closet in the corridor.

Stone steps lead to a lower terrace cut in the rock where the protected and secluded ten-by-five-meter heated swimming pool is nestled in the natural rock garden. The swimming pool has a salt water system and the surrounds are equipped with sun loungers, parasols and another shady tonnelle.

A covered private car park to the rear of the property accommodates 3 cars.
